[TRAVEL] Exploring Ripley's Believe It Or Not | Resort World Genting

Made it to the Ripleys Believe It or Not Odditorium
I swear you guys when I heard that Ripley's Believe It Or Not is opening at Resort World Genting, I can't help but mark my calendar to make sure that I make time to visit. I remember growing up watching their TV shows about insane unbelievable facts and also my visits when I travel overseas. And to finally know that they are available in Malaysia, I secretly screamed like a little girl. Being a fan of  Ripley's Believe It Or Not is an opportunity not to be missed. Since its still very new, and I cant find much sneak peaks on what  Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Genting has to offer, I decided to do a little sneak peek for you guys to get a preview before entering.

What is  Ripley's Believe It Or Not?

Time to explore the Believe It or Not in Genting Highlands
A little introduction if you haven't heard about  Ripley's Believe It Or Not (how can you even not hear about  Ripley's Believe It Or Not?!), as of 2018, the collection is a compilation of nearly 100 years of collection, collected by Robert Ripley and his corporate heirs. With over 250,000 pieces gathered and assembled by Ripley himself on his many travels around the world, the staff today continues to add new pieces to the collection almost daily to maintain his legacy. And trust me, the artifacts and information that he left are mindblowing.

Sneak Peek

The first thing you see when you enter (minus the upsidedown pram)
The one-armed paper hanger
Now, here's a little sneak peak of what  Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Resort World Genting has to offer. Recently opened earlier this year in 2018, you will find a variety of different artifacts in different sections. The collection has been split into science & Biology, History & Culture, Art & Design, and of course a collection of his personal journals. I cannot imagine how much effort it took for him to collect all this data, but im glad that you can at least see a portion of it at the  Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Resort World Genting. YAY!

Trash shadow art, what do you really see?
Art made out of purely toast
The Girner in lifesize
Here are some examples of the things I found, like this trash shadow art. Like, to me it looks like a pile of trash, but when you look closer at this pile of random plastic toys, do you see a cat or two mice? I see both! They also exhibit toast art as a whole masterpiece by a French dude, and I ain't kidding that there's this statue of The Girner, where he has an ability to swallow his nose. I know its pretty random facts, but that what you have to go through when you're there.

Presenting the amazon Collection
The Tibetan Human Bone Flute
Believe it or not, this is an actual mummified hand
Next would be a section filled with Science and Biology where you'll find artifacts which managed to travel from space back to earth. Walk deeper and find yourself in the Amazon Collection where you'll find all things history and culture. Here I found pretty cool stuff like a Tibetan Human Bone Flute and a mummified hand from Egypt! Now that is savage. Who would even dare to take anything that its dead? A part of me hopes that it's not real, but if it is real, I hope it's not cursed. haha.

Here's Haziq posing with a horse made entirely out of licence plates
Don't worry,  Ripley's Believe It Or Not didn't forget fun facts for the kids. The Art & Design section would be a favorite for the kids as its nothing too complex to understand. Hehe. Here you can enjoy the Ripleys Theater where you can take a moment to see crazy stunts that are unbelievable or play around with illusional tricks to see which part of your brain is working more? With so many things to see, you'll find your way to the luckiest room in the world. I felt like all my luck was honestly from that room where you'll find all things lucky, like the Buddha, horseshoes, and penny being turned into art.

And thats just 10% of what they have to offer, you gotta be here to withness it all in person.

And there you have it! I wish I could show you more, but I would be spoiling all the fun for you if I do. Hehe. So, what are you waiting for? If you are clueless on what to do with the family or looking to spice up your boring weekend, just take a trip to Resort World Genting to give yourself a break from the serious weekdays you've been having. Also, it's not too shabby to level up on your knowledge on getting to know more things that your colleagues right? Hehe. Sara xx
