[FASHION] Neutrogena®’s fashion debut celebrates the joy of healthy skin

Finally, a fashion that lasts for all seasons is here! Introducing Neutrogena® Happy Skin 24/7 fashion collection, a series of 30 designs presented at Mercedes-Benz STYLO AsiaFashionFestival (MBSTYLOAFF) 2017. Created by local fashion designers Kittie Yiyi and Hazzer Wan Lee, the Happy Skin 24/7 collection interprets the happy mood that one exudes with healthy, great-looking skin.

According to Julia Teo, Associate Marketing Director of Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies, which markets Neutrogena® in Malaysia, healthy, great-looking skin is one of the things that women derives joy. “As the #1 dermatologist-recommended brand, we believe beauty starts with healthy skin – a condition which gives women a lot of positive energy in their daily lives. Imagine looking into the mirror every morning to see healthy and radiant skin, wouldn’t your mood naturally lift and your day start better? Indeed, healthy skin has the power to make one happy and that’s why our latest campaign advocates Happy Skin 24/7 with Neutrogena®,” she said.

Teo added: “Through our fashion debut at Mercedes-Benz STYLO AsiaFashionFestival, we hope to demonstrate the inner-joy of having healthy, great-looking skin, a result of using Neutrogena® skincare, and share it with Malaysian women -- what better way to do this than to come up with a fashion collection, inspired by the concept of Happy Skin”!

Neutrogena has tied up with Kittie Yiyi and Hazzer Wan Lee – two unique designers who draw their inspiration from things that intrigue them in creating interesting prints and colours! Thanks to their creativity and hard work, we will see how they bring the youthfulness and joy of Neutrogena®’s Happy Skin 24/7 concept to life tonight,” continued Teo.

Kittie Yiyi

Kittie Yiyi’s quirky sense of humour translates into her designs, which are often joyful and loud, yet smart. The Raffles Design Institute KL graduate’s motto is: “Whatever you decide to wear, make sure it makes you happy!” Kittie’s collection is inspired by the quintessential beach girl on a holiday. Coming from a faraway beach land, she wanders into the city in her flowy, comfy loose-fitting outfits. Her happiness is infectious – and it shows in the way she dresses. Featuring flared silhouettes, ruffles, cheerful stripes and heart-shaped prints, the collection flaunts the beach girl’s confidence in her own skin with transparent details and cut-outs.

 Hazzer Wan Lee

Hazzer Wan Lee, creative director of HWL by Hazzer Wan Lee Fashion Atelier Kuala Lumpur, graduated with a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from Herriot-Watt University, Scotland. Hazzer’s fashion collection is inspired by the water splash -- a signature of Neutrogena® Deep Clean range of cleansing products, and the first step to Happy Skin 24/7! Fluid lines and cascading layers come together to bring out the beauty and energy of water in hues of blue, green, orange and pink. The clever incorporation and layering techniques of different materials such as denim, organdy, PU leather, cotton silk and dyed fabrics results in a unique 3D effect that mimics the movements of water

As an overall, how can you not love fashion that embraces joy effortlessly? I admire both these amazing designers and i do hope to see more of them soon. [FASHION] Zacheela's Glamorous Devotion Fashion Show

Muslimah Fashion Show by Zacheela
Zacheela, a modest Muslimah designer clothing brand has targeted to be a fashionable brand for modest fashion to suit different personalities from all around the world! Recently I was invited to their Glamorous Devotion Fashion Show 16/17, thus giving me a reason to share out the good news to you as I'm proud to say that Zacheela is Malaysian based! Support local brands peeps!

Devotion Fashion Show, held at Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur
The fashion show was held at Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur where Zacheela showcased 5 of the latest collection (Baroque, Flora, Moroccan, Abstract and Geometric)  which consist of 30 modest Muslimah selections overall. Using only the finest quality of Rasatti Silk and Korean Polyester, the collection also exclusively features pearls and premium beads on ONLY 100 pieces for each design making the designs highly exclusive once you own it.

Baroque Collection

Baroque prints
A mix of black and nude
The Baroque Collection is a luxurious international brand where the patents are designed exclusively with interesting patterns. The collection features 2 luxurious shades, black and nude to create an elegant look making it a perfect glam outfit to get jaws dropping at night events. I honestly have to say that for a glam night out filled with sophistication, these pieces would definitely make head turns.

Flora Collection

Featuring pastel floral shades
The flora collections are hand drawn with floral patterns to suit sweet and soft personalities. The collection features shades of purple and dusty green on the fabric which creates a modest feminine look. Just looking at this collection just reminds me the essence of having high tea with girlfriends with some macaroons as sides on a lovely afternoon. Perfect for any girl at heart.

Morroccan Collection

The Moroccan collection is inspired by the middle east with a touch of elegance to give it more class to the designs. There's just something so mesmerizing about this collection really. It's like a combination of dreamy Moroccan aesthetics. Most of the range for this particular collections are in pastel colors, making it a rare sight to see. If this collection had a character, I would personally describe it as fierce but mysterious

Abstract Collection

The Abstract Collection
This collection features abstract designs with shades of soft pink petals, which also happens to be the signature design for Zacheela as the design features eye-catching abstract patterns. On a first impression, I believe that this collection is inspired by a form of a kimono from the Japanese culture, and Zacheela managed to add a twist to the design with abstract art in mind. For those who dare to be different, this has to be a must have!

Geometric Collection

For the geometry collection, this design has been created for those who likes to look more outgoing. Blue signifies bravery to suit the wearer's character. I have a slight preference to this collection as I'm in love with the mysterious shade of blue accompanied with a geometrical pattern that adds a little more class to the collection.

These ready to wear collection has successfully created designs make any wearer of the collection feel elegant and unique. Sizes start from XS to XXL, and retails at a reasonable price ranging between RM179 to RM299! That's affordable if you ask me, especially for designs that are super exclusive.

Zacheela's Brand Ambassador

Presenting the brand ambassador, Anzalna Nasir
To celebrate the occasion, Zacheela has appointed, famous Malaysian actress, Anzalna Nasir as their brand ambassador as she resembles the brand perfectly. According to the founder of Zaheela, Tengku Shaheela Tengku Abd Malek, the collection emphasizes on bravery through innovative elements and trending colors that would satisfy any fashion enthusiast with more choices in Modest Muslimah fashion.

Featuring one the bridal collections which looked jaw dropping during the fashion show
By having the glamorous devotion fashion show, Zacheela hopes that the brand would further inspire fashion enthusiasts to believe in the brand and to also build trust with customers by providing only the best service and quality that would not disappoint. Despite being a Muslimah brand, I believe the collection is amazing to suit even for those who are not wearing headscarves (a.k.a people like me).

Zacheela's Bangi Boutique

So what are you waiting for?! If you love these collections as much as I do, be sure to spare some time by visiting their boutique whenever you're free. I'm personally amazed at how exclusive the designs are and on top of that are available at unbelievably affordable pricesZacheela has to be on my 'keep a look out' list as something tells me that they will be a major hit coming in the near future. Be sure to visit www.zacheela.com.my for more updates on the latest collection, and also do leave me a comment below to share with me your thoughts on the collection. xx

ORIGIN 2015 | Raffle's 34th Graduation Fashion Show

Fashion enthusiast, turning dreams in a reality, congratulations to the Fashion Designer graduates of Raffles College of Higher Education! I was honored to be invited to attend their 34th graduation showcase, titled ORIGIN 2015.

Being a fan of the arts, I was glad to be able to witness their final designs, which really impressed me as their designs are very professionally designed in so many levels. Its no wonder that Raffles College has one of the best fashion design students, by allowing the students to embrace their creativity skills, and to put it out in a form of fashion.

Attendee's of the day: Shana, Mary Jane's Step Mother, Mary Jane, mua and Miriam.
It was held at JW Marriot, right across Pavillion, and everyone who were present at the event were all in their best dressed outfit in fancy gowns and in their trendiest designers outfit. For a second there, I really thought I was at a grand fashion show, and it really was when I got to see the collection of their students. Their designs really made head turns as the concept was well brought up to embrace the artistic conceptual design.

I’ll stop blabbing now as I know you’re looking forward to the designs that were insanely intense! Coming from a background of architecture, just looking at their designs could really inspire you. Its no wonder that even some architecture can be related to fashion.

| PARADOXICAL |

Nana Ooi designed this collection, where her masterpiece of grandeur is formed after destruction of an ancient. As serenity, purity, and balance echoes through, this design resembles a center point for relation between human and god.

| SENSHI |

Next up would be by Erica Lim. Her concept was to strive for perfection, when perfection is impossible. When you have the passion and enthusiasm, nothing in the world will stop you. The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire and when you set yourself on fire, people love to come and see you burn. Celebrating uniqueness through the words, the action and the choices we make.

| PSYCHEDELIC |

This designer came all the way from Indonesia, Tania Saraswati and her design was based on hallucination. You decide if its reality or fatality.

| LA BELLE EPOQUE |

Marie Nardelli, who came from France, decided to design her collection through the terms of power, elegance, beauty, promiscuous and androgynous. These are the main characteristics that make a courtesan woman and the beauty transfers through elegance which gives women upmost power and riches. There are courtesans of the rich and famous and attract the wealthiest and most powerful men of their society.

|  WHERE ARE YOU, PAPA? |

Quek Sh’un-Linn has  a little miss sought for the attention. A mysterious collection which had a deep meaning to it. All in white and immer
sing herself into shaping her papery friends.

| INFERNO |

Next would be by Aneesa Alsagoff where she was b y Moritz Waldemeyers 1000 Flames. The ideas was from an installation of parabolic mirror that reflects digital flames from its hexagonal surfaces. A jewel like beauty combines the charm of a candle light and geometric lines.

| MOVING THE LIFELESS |

This triggered me to be inspired the most. En Chi Khoo revitalises building with motions. Frank Gehry and one of his signature masterpieces, the dancing house.  The creation of exaggerated movements, conventionally geometric and asymmetric, pleases the eye of the beholder.

| DISTORTED REALITY |

Lee Hui Mein was inspired on trying to break down and dissect this perceived reality by offering visual cross-sections that pry open further realms, encompassing the human experience at micro and macro scales. This attempt to get a deeper truth has truly exposed an underlying existential framework that completes our deceptively limited view of reality.

| THE SmoG |

Killer of a thousand or possibly more, Ng Jin Ying has created something which enters our veins with only one intend to harm. What do you think of this dark mysterious collection of hers?

| PAINFUL HAPINESS |

Here Reiko Poon’s attempt to express that the sky has faded, the sun turned grey, that’s what it feels… a part is lost.  A collection to those who was once a part of love that turned into hate. Sorrow is streaming down her cheek and she knows no way to stop it now. However, someday she knows she can.

| UNTAMED |

Niki Tan has created an amazing design which was heavily inspired by the movie “The Wild One 1953” that portrays the rebellion of a lost generation against anything that forces them to conform and abide by the rules of the generation that controls them. “Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere; and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself. Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.

| ETERNITY |

Lee Huei Wen decided to paint a canvas of conveying her feelings in through for her loved one.  Strung alongside with the man of her life, they play a beautiful tune.

| MAMA, I CANT SLEEP |

Michelle Li Yuan has ben seeking for some sleep, a dream in the clouds, hoping to sleep without fear. She count the sheep’s from 1 to 20 in this collection.

The event ended with the judges announcing the result on the best 3 fashion designers of the year. But of course, that doesnt mean that the rest we're equally as good. I think everyones collection was absolutely stunning! Presenting to you the designers who impressed the judges, congratulations!

Ng Jin Ying | The SmoG

Chi Khoo | Moving the Lifeless

Sh'un Lynn | Where are you Papa?
Just a step back from everything, I would say that these designers are more than ready to take over the fashion industry! There’s so much love and passion that was put into their work that it looks like it was created and design with thoughts of every single thread.  Stunning pieces to be considered to take over the fashion world.

Whats a fashion show, without an #ootd right? hehe
All these designs made me felt like I needed to do an advance diploma in fashion designing. GOOGLY EYES! For more information on Raffles College of Higher Education, do visit their official website at www.raffles.edu.my or www.facebook.com/rche.kl. Hoping that you enjoyed the collection as much as I did.

Signing out,
Aliza Sara xx
