[REVIEW] My Shopping experience on SGShop Malaysia

This goes to all the shopaholics, I'm here to introduce you an exciting online site where you can ship items directly from China directly to Malaysia. I've always wanted to shop on Taobao since most of my Chinese friends would say that it's SUPER CHEAP to get fashionable pieces since fashion is always so fast paced, but it sucks when you can't read Chinese (boohoo). This is where SGShop comes in! SGShop is a Taobao Agent that can help you shop from Taobao and ships directly to Malaysia, especially just for you!

SGShop being an unfamiliar platform to some, im here to share with you my experiences shopping via SGShop! Im a buyer like all of you are, and I did have my fair share of insecurities when shopping on a new site which im not used to as I dont hear it from the people around me. But after testing it out for myself, I can reassure to you that SGShop is a safe platform to shop on and I'll warn you that it may be addictive! #youhavebeenwarned

TWO OPTIONS

There are two options to choose from on SGShop where you can either choose "Buy for me" or "Ship for me". To keep things short, Buy for me is when you browse through their website, add it to a cart then SGShop will help you ship it to Malaysia. Whereas Ship for me, on the other hand, helps you purchase items from China online based stores, then SGShop would once again help you ship it to Malaysia.

But being a first timer, I've decided to go for the "Buy For Me" option, cause I find it safer when I'm shopping on SGShop's website. Plus, it sucks that I can't read Chinese so shopping on other Chinese online based stores may be an issue. #firstworldproblems.

HOW TO SHOP

Now for the fun part! First, you can start by browsing through the website and pick the items that you want to purchase. I love the fact that everything has been converted to RM saving me the hassle to recalculate the total in my head. And what's even more exciting is that SGShop literally has almost anything which I shall let you know that I had a good 3 days of browsing through and it never ends!

Spotted some chic outfits, and a backdrop which I've always wanted to get but it's usually over RM200 in Malaysia for a good one. I was in hopes that its good, but thankfully SGShop has like a rating system for easier identification how likely the item matches the images online. Psst, here's a hint! Be sure to choose items that have RM0 charges on domestic shipping to save on your purchase. Once you're satisfied with your decision, pick your choice of colours (if any) then add to cart. And once everything is added, you can click your cart and see the items that you've purchased together with the total amount.

PAYMENT

Once you've confirmed your purchases, next is to choose your payment option. Usually, i would choose Maybank2u or CIMBclicks, but what sucks about this is that they charge an additional 2.8% + RM0.80 on top of your total amount. Booo. But in my case, I chose to make payment by account balance, which may require me to top up my account and wallah, no additional charges. Hehe. Once payment has been made, you would also receive an email that your payment has been confirmed.

SUBMIT DELIVERY

You may be required to wait till all your purchases arrive at SGShop's warehouse in China before being able to click "Submit Delivery" to avoid double shipping payments. And to check your order status, all you need to do is click your username, click "My Order" and all the things that you need to know would be on this page. And if you see all your items listed as "Arrived China Warehouse", then you're free to click "Submit Delivery" where you will be required to fill in your address and to pick a shipping method.

SHIPPING METHOD

There are a few Shipping Methods available, and it really depends on the urgency of your needs. So in my case, I've decided to choose Sea Shipping cause its one of the cheapest shipping rates available since the stuff I purchased can be considered heavy. SOBS! I was also told by a friend that if your purchases are light, then Economy Air would be one of the best options to choose. Each item you purchase will have a description on the total weight as you check out.

Since I already paid for my items, next is to pay for my shipping fee which totaled up to RM66 + clearance fee + Service Charge (8%) which I think is fair considering the items I purchased can be considered big and heavy. And repeat payment method based on your preference. Once payment has been made, next the status of your items would be "Repacking in progress" and in about 2 days I checked, my status changed to "Sending to Malaysia". YAY!

MY PARCEL IS HERE!

And after 33 days of anxiously waiting, my parcel has finally arrived. It's pretty obvious that it's from SGShop since it's wrapped in an SGShop tape all over. Hehe. So here are some of the items that I bought if you're wondering. I'm planning to get the new MacBook Pro Touch Bar and I got my casses at a steal price! We all know how pricey MacBook Pro Cases can be, and you would not believe how much I got mine for. I also got myself some shirts for work, casual shoes, ballet shoes, lego and a portable backdrop anchor! The price of each item is listed below:

I was actually a little concern about the quality of the items, and it took me a while to decide on which supplier to get the items from. But after really reconsidering my choices, I think the slightly expensive ones has better quality so I'm rather satisfied with my purchases. YAY! Despite the fact that it took me a while and whole lot of waiting to get my parcel, for the price i paid, I'd say it was worth it!

Day 1: Successfully placed an order with payment

[REVIEW + GIVEAWAY] MYC Skincare | Handmade Soap in Malaysia

Reviewing the MYC Skincare

Good morning, have y'all are having a good week ahead. If you are looking for customised handmade goods (handmade soaps to be more specific) or just basically anything that's handmade with love, well let me tell you a thing or two about MYC Skincare. MYC Skincare products are 100% vegetarian are very eco-friendly as they minimise as much wastage on packaging as much as possible. Ingredients in making their products have no synthetic chemical and if you're thinking of getting custom made soaps, as door gifts, wedding gifts or simply a gift for someone you care about, it's about time you see what MYC Skincare has to offer.

REVIEWING: RUSTIC BASIL MINT SOAP

Basil Mint Body Soap / RM25

Here I have for review for today's post would be one of their newly launched Basil Mint body soap which I have to say smells heavenly! The bar was personally sent over to me which I think it was really sweet of the talented soap maker to come all the way. The bar soap came with no plastic packaging (super eco-friendly) and it was really cute that it was wrapped in brown paper with a small handwritten note that states the type of bar soap, the weight and the pricing of the soap. It's always good to see handmade items being made entirely handmade cause you'll eventually know that they've taken so much effort to produce this.

Loving the texture of it

Anyways, it's always more exciting to find out how these soaps were made and since I had the privilege to get to meet the soapmaker in person she was kind enough to spend some of her time to explain to me. To make the Rustic Basil Mint Soap, the soap maker had to cook the soap batter for almost an hour, with constant supervision (cause we wouldn't want it to be overcooked). The batter is split into half, naturally coloured in each of the portions by Activated Charcoal and Yellow Clay, to make sure its refreshing, cleansing and moisturising. Just the characteristics any bar soap should have!

Foams really well too!

The idea of handmade products is that I love that how each bar soap has its own unique build. Perfect squares or rectangled bar soaps are boring, and looking at mine really makes me appreciate the shape more. I was told that it contains Olive Oil and Coconut Oil to moisturise and nourish the skin, while the yellow clay ingredients are recommended for all skin types as it's restorative for tired and neglected skin (indeed what I need desperately), and the activated charcoal ingredients acts as a detoxing agent for the skin. Basil Mint Essential oil fights bacteria and infection, reducing inflammation, preventing radical damages, viruses and relieves congestion. I honestly never knew what a bar of soap can do until the soap maker told me. Makes me feel that handmade bar soaps are being taken for granted nowadays :(

With the bubble pouch it lathers really well

OH before I forget, every bar soap bought comes with a bubble pouch which helps to foam up your bar, but if you prefer receiving your bar soap without the bubble pouch, you can always request to not include it in your parcel. As a verdict, I would say that this handmade soap is well made to cleanse, moisturise and indeed de-stressing thanks to the refreshing aroma. This would definitely be a great gift to get for someone close or maybe might as well get it for yourself at RM25 for 100g! I'd say that its really reasonable as a bar would roughly last me a month or two. Hehe

[Review + Giveaway] Body Buddy Aloe Vera

Hello everyone! So today i'll be talking about a product that i've received recently to fight the hot harmful heat wave that has been haunting our skin. I present to you the Body Buddy Aloe Vera Range, that has a cute tag line which says 'your body, best buddy'. Which is pretty much true, cause your body and you are practically un-separatable. And by having your body as your best buddy, we tend to forget to pamper the body, and as a thank you for always being there for us.

A little introduction on the Body Buddy Aloe Vera Range, it specialises with its 98% extract base of pure aloe vera that has been well known to provide moisture in the form of gel. Aloe Vera has been well known to be the most gentle ingredient to suit any skin type, making it a must-have for days that our skin feels sensitive after a hot day in the sun. The Range has a fair range of variety, but for today, i'll be reviewing more on the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel, the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel Spray and the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Foam Cleansing.

Aloe Vera Gel // Price; RM18.90

So the first product up would be the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel, and from the packaging, you can actually see the Aloe Vera through the transparent tube bottle. I thought it was pretty cool cause you can actually see the condition of the Aloe vera before using it. A plus point would be that since it comes in a tube bottle, it minimizes on unhygienically contact. There are also English instructions on the stating that it can be applied on your body, face and hair. So whenever you need a boost in hydration, the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel would be there for you!

Its really easy to control the amount of the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel with the tube bottle. Upon application, it was actually very cooling and it doesnt leave sticky residue (major plus points) as its easily absorbed by the skin. Not that my hands needed a boost in hydration, but i did manage to try it out on some dry areas to see how 'hydrating' can the gel be. From the image above, i had shared a photo of a before and after impression on my dry skin, and as expected, it hydrates the skin pretty well, making sure there are no dry skin flakes.

Aloe Vera Cleansing Foam // RM27.90

Next would be the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Cleansing Foam where its used to cleansed the face from dirt and impurities. It doesnt come in a transparent tube bottle, but at least its easy to differentiate the purpose of the range. Even though the instruction says that it can be used over body, face and hair, i personally think that it would be more advisable to use this as a gentle cleanser.

And tadaa, i managed to give this cleanser ago, and i was really surprised on how gentle the formula was. I have oily combination skin, so i wasnt exactly expecting much from the product to balance out my oil balance, but to my surprise, it cleanses my skin pretty well! It felt very refreshing too after I rinsed the cleanser off. It foams up really well too!

Aloe Vera Mist // RM29.90

And last but not least would be the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel Mist. It comes in a spritz transparent bottle, and this might most probably be my favorite product among all! Mist are usually very convenient cause it doesnt require two hands to spritz away. Personally, i love bringing aloe vera mist around, especially when im travelling. When the environment is dry, the soothing gel mist is just a spritz away for a cooling refreshing sensation.

I think using this mist can be based to your own creativity, in my case, i'll spritz this bottle of ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel Mist almost anywhere! But a personal secret to fix frizzy hair would be to spray some aloe vera on to give it some nutrients to hydrate. Otherwise, you can spray it around your arms, legs, feet, face for a boost in moisture. It's cools the skin without any limitations of ways to use it.

VERDICT? 

As a verdict, i would say that the range and the products to serve their purpose of existence. It effectively soothes the skin from burns, UV rays while providing moisture to the skin. After about a week of using this, i realized that it encourages the skin to regenerate to heal scars. Each product also is sealed tightly to ensure that the content is kept fresh too! Would i repurchase? I'd say its a yes, but if i had to choose just 1 product from the range, i'd get myself the ALOEVERA Moisture Real Soothing Gel Mist, but that doesnt mean that the other products are not as good.
