Garnier | Serikan Diri Di Aidilfitri

With the Raya festive season coming to an end, this year with Garnier, the thought of giving goes beyond as they have brought meaning to Raya through their most recent campaign, Serikan Diri Di Aidilfitri, by collaborating with retailer partner MYDIN to give back to communities through the empowerment of women. And today, I was one of the lucky few to witness the beauty brand raising up to RM15,000 to empower women thorough TechForGood at Mydin USJ.

Garnier has been working together with TechForGood, which is a program under the Global Entrepreneurship Movement Association (GEMA) by showing support to the initiative that uplifts and empowers micro-communities in Malaysia as TechForGood facilitates new skills and helps women who are in need to improve their income through the help of technology. Since their inception in 2018, TechFor Good has grown to have about 500 members present.

During the campaign closing ceremony, Garnier Malaysia announced that the partnership with MYDIN would benefit TechForGood in two ways where for every Garnier product sold at MYDIN RM0.20 was contributed to the program and for every RM30 and above, purchased between 24-30th June 2019, shoppers will receive a handmade pouch or reusable tote bag sewn by women under the programme. How awesome is that?

It's nice to know that big brands such as Garnier are committed to support the needs of the local community and throughout the Serikan Diri Di Aidilfitri campaign, there were a total of 48,000 gift items that were handmade by women under the program, that were given out to shoppers. With that in mind, a total of RM15,000 was raised in collaboration with MYDIN to support TechForGood which will contribute to the advancement of the program by benefiting more of its members.

How do you like mt attempt arrangement?
As a guest present that day, I managed to meet some of the members of TechForGood where they shared to me that they were very glad to learn new sewing skills to gain extra income. I was given a tote bag and some sewing kits where I got a chance to get a little hands on sewing, and I must say that its not as easy as it looks. It took me about a good 30 minutes to properly sew my beads in onto my tote bag, and the members of TechForGood made it looks so effortless.

Present during this meaningful occasion included Amyra Rosli, Shafiq Kyle, and Azira Syafinaz who recently appeared on TV3 miniseries Serikan Hatimu which Garnier is a proud sponsor of. Its nice to know that these celebrities are supporting a meaningful campaign with Garnier and since they were present, they even shared their thoughts on their favorite products by Garnier. My personal favorite would be the Micellar cleansing Water by Garnier which I use daily to remove my makeup. hehe. Domino's being my go to quick netflix night fix, its exciting to know that they have recently launched their latest treat inspired by K-drama's, the Saranghae-ny Stix to compliment thier latest 'Sp S[icy, So Drama' campaign. I've treid the latest Saranghae-ny Stix together with the spicy  Ssamjeang Pizza and Ayam Haseyo, and BAM! All these being enjoyed together makes the perfect Korean movie night experience.

When the word Oreo pops out, all you can think about is to Twist, Lick, and Dunk, especially when you've grown up with Oreos during your childhood (I know I did!). It's still currently one of my favorite cookies to indulge into when im on the go and trust me when I say that it's still following me wherever I go, including to my office drawer. Hehe. And now, the world-famous cookie is presenting a new twist to Malaysians with its latest addition to the family, the Oreo Chocolate Coated!
