To kick off the year, Red Army Watches Malaysia has aimed to bring in the German timepiece brand, namely Laco, their two new pilot watches in a trendy military look. The two limited editions are known to be "Augsburg Oliv 39" and "Aachen Oliv 39" which are limited to 250 pieces worldwide! The attractive appearance of it presents the classic typography of the famous observation watches with their signature dials in a refined shade. Featuring an authentic vintage charm, it's underlined by the bronze-colored case and the retro-look strap which creates a very military vibe and charm.

For your information, it has been over 100 years that pilot watches have been flying high. Being one of the most successful watch types ever, it's no wonder that it has gained great popularity to the unmistakable design and functionality it demonstrates in all its elements. Personally, I would say that a unique characteristic that the timepiece has would be the instrument look of the dial is not a design gimmick, but results from its history as a technical tool in the cockpit, which was actually used for positioning and navigation as well as for many flight- specific calculations. Laco itself stands for pilot watches like hardly any other brand and presents not only authentic replicas of the historical originals, but also modern interpretations. To this day, these timepieces radiate an elemental spirit of adventure and inspire explorers and individualists with an active lifestyle.

Augsburg Oliv 39 | Featuring a more minimal design 

With the two new watches, each limited to 250 pieces, Laco is following up on the success of the "Oliv 42" models launched last year, which sold out in a very short time. This year, the models have a significant difference of a reduced case size by 3 mm to 39 mm and the watches have a much slimmer appearance and can also be worn on even narrower wrists. The stainless steel case is covered with a bronze-colored PVD coating, which emphasizes the "used look" character. The warm hue harmonizes expressively with the olive green dial. Inspired by military units and special commandos, the natural tone provides a fitting background for the strikingly matter-of-fact typography. The numerals, indexes and hands are coated with the luminous Superluminova "Old Radium", which has a brownish vintage tone during the day, but glows intensely green in the dark.

Offering automatic movement Laco 21

Offering a precise drive, it provides high-quality automatic movement Laco 21, which can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back. It is based on the proven Miyota 821A caliber and offers a power reserve of 42 hours, as well as a stop-second function, which allows precise setting of the time. Optionally, Laco also offers the option of upgrading to the Laco 31 caliber. This upgrade offers an increased power reserve of over 60 hours, as well as thermally blued screws as an additional visual highlight. The distinctive "field watch" look is complemented by rugged vintage-look leather straps. As a tribute to the history of the pilot watch, they are equipped with decorative rivets, which, like the buckle, once again pick up the color tone of the case.
