NEUBODI's Bra Drive | Donate your old bra's at the Bra Bank

Neubodi's Bra Drive
Do you have old bra's that you don't use anymore? Instead of throwing it away, why not donate it to the Bra Bank. Neubodi, a Malaysian lingerie specialist brand has launched its month long Donate, Support, and Recycle Bra Drive campaign which will run until the 5th November in conduction with the International Breast Cancer Awareness month. So now would be the best time to dig out your old bra's for a good cause by donating them to the Bra Bank.

What is this Bra Drive all about?
This campaign means a lot to me as I had an aunt who recently passed away due to liver cancer which started with breast cancer, and I believe that by supporting this campaign, you could possibly be saving lives without you even knowing it. Neubodi had a bra drive campaign organised at the highstreet concert in 1 Utama last weekend, and I decided to be involved by checking out on what the campaign was all about. I've learned so much during the event and decided to share it out by writing a blog post on it, so please read on if you're interested on how you can be involved in making the world a better place.

Meet the guys who sort out your old unused clothes a.k.a Life Line Clothing Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
If you're wondering what your old bra's can do to help, I had the exact same question in mind! Im sure that not all our bra's would go to waste as some are still usable and some could possibly be already well used and not usable anymore, am I right? By donating old bra's, I was told that you are helping communities in Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, India and Africa including those in poverty for whom bras are sought-after to be used. And to the non-usable bra's it would be kept away by Life Line Clothing. I didn't know such technology existed where your old bras can be converted into reusable solid fuel to be used to power industrial boilers and generators. What a way to recycle old bra, instead of dumping it into landfills!

Getting myself a breast examination. YAY!
Thank you BCWA!
The partnership between Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) and Neubodi aims to increase public awareness that breast cancer is 'gender blind' and promote the importance of self-examination for early detection which could possibly save lives. I was lucky enough to be able to catch their BCWA mobile clinic to a clinical breast examination, and thank god that my breast are free from cancer. What a relief. But that doesn't mean that I don't need to self-examine myself, which I was advised to check at least once a month. Did you know that BCWA takes serious action to help newly diagnosed cancer patients by helping them learn how to cope with the disease?

The customised silicone models
According to the National Cancer Institute Malaysia, about 5,000 Malaysian women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and less than 72% of men recover from the disease as doctor visit is made when symptoms are more severe. During the event, BCWA also provided customised silicone models to educate those present on how to self-examine. Not to also forget that present were Tropicana Medical Centre's oncology specialist and health professionals to facilitate the public on understanding breast cancer.

Drop-Off Unwanted or Used bras

I've dropped my unwanted bra's in the Bra Bank and Im glad that my unused items won't be going to entire waste.
Now what can you do to contribute? Don't worry if you missed out on the Bra Drive last weekend, as the Bra Drive will still be on-going at any Neubodi stores nationwide and they will sort out the donated bras to be donate gently-used items to victims of sex trafficking, enabling their rehabilitation into society as they earn a livelihood selling second-hand bras OR will be passed to Life Line Clothing to recycle your old bra's to be used as reusable solid fuel instead of letting it go to waste to landfills.

And there you have it, you can donate your bra's until 5th November 2017 at any Neubodi stores.
Neubodi bra's are indeed super comfy too! Managed to grab one and I might just to a tiny review on it.
For more details on the Neubodi's "DONATE.SUPPORT.RECYCLE" Bra Drive 2017, you can keep yourself updated by heading over to their Official Facebook Page or Website which I would like it below for your convenience. So there you have it. Don't forget to get yourself examined and be sure to know your breast, because technically, only you can detect what isn't right with your body if you know your body well enough. Support the cause and share it out to everyones you know as the campaign ends on the 5th of November 2017. It would really mean a lot to me, and it would also be a good thought in mind the end the year knowing that you've done something good in 2017. *wink
